Amrit Vriksha Andolan 2023 was launched by the Government of Assam. The objective of this program is to promote a greener and more sustainable environment in the state. For this, Assamese citizens are urged to plant trees. Assam government will give some incentive to the people planting trees. Amrit Vriksha Andolan aims to plant 1 crore saplings by individuals from different areas by September 17, 2023.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been awarded the “Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship” in recognition of his contribution to the development of Assam. A US District Court has declared the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program illegal, although it has not ordered an immediate end to protections and work permits for about 580,000 DACA recipients. DACA, established in 2012, allows undocumented immigrants brought to the US as children to apply for a deferral of legal action and work authorization.
