Rajasthan is a mineral-rich state and has a diversified economy having agriculture, mining and tourism as its main engines of growth.

1. The institution of Lokayukta was created under the Rajasthan Lokayukta and Up-Lokayukta Act, 1973 to independently and impartially investigate and investigate complaints related to corruption and misuse of office against public servants with the aim of providing clean administration to the general public.

2. Lokayukta is an independent institution whose jurisdiction is the entire state of Rajasthan. It is not a department of the state government nor does the government interfere in its work.

3. In Rajasthan, ministers, secretaries and chairpersons of autonomous institutions come under the scrutiny of Lokayukta.

4. Presently the Lokayukta (Rajasthan) is Honorable Justice Shri Pratap Krishna Lohra.
