1. Section 89 of the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 provides for the constitution of Rajasthan Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad Service.

2. The amendment to section 89 states that the expression “Village Development Officer” shall be substituted for the existing expression “Village-level worker/Gram Sevak”.

3. The post of Gram Sevaks under Section 89 does not exist in Panchayati Raj Institutions and hence the existing provisions are deleted.

4. The Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 came into force in the state on April 23, 1994.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam is the undisputed father of India’s missile programme. He was breathed life into ballistic missiles like the Agni and Prithvi. It is too exhausting to track Dr Adbul Kalam’s achievements to date. In the 60s and 70s he was a trail blazer in the space department. In the 80s, he transformed the moribund Defence Research and Development Laboratory in Hyderabad into a highly motivated team.

By the 90s, Kalam emerged as the Czar of Indian Science and technology and was awarded the Bharat Ratna and served as the 11th President of India 2002 to 2007.

1. The number of females per 1000 males in the population is called sex ratio.

2. According to the 2011 census, the sex ratio of India is 943. That means there are 943 women for every 1000 men.
