According to Census 2011, the sex ratio of Rajasthan (0-6) was 888 females per 1000 males. The sex ratio in rural areas (0-6) years was 892 females per 1000 males and the sex ratio in urban areas was 874 females per 1000 males.

1. Handicrafts have been flourishing in various areas in Rajasthan since ancient times.

2. At present, the most important center of handicrafts in Rajasthan is Jodhpur.

3. EPIP (Export Promotion Park) for handicraft products has been established at Boranada (Jodhpur).

4. Due to the enthusiasm of the people of Rajasthan, variety of costumes, folk entertainment and artistic talent, various artist castes arrived here and they remained here only.

5. Making useful and artistic items from local materials and skills is called 'handicraft'. These qualities have been prevalent traditionally in the artisan castes of rural areas of the state.

6. At present, a significant part of Rajasthan's exports come from handicrafts. This is the basis of employment for the artistic castes of the state.

7. For the marketing and promotion of handicraft items produced in Rajasthan, a showroom named Rajsthali has been started by Rajsico in March 2008 in Jaipur.
