Ganymede is the largest moon of Jupiter and is also the largest moon in our solar system. It is even larger than the planet Mercury. Ganymede is one of Jupiter's four largest moons, known as the Galilean moons, discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610.

When hypothesis are confirmed by varied tests then it becomes theory. A theory is always backed by evidence; a hypothesis is only a suggested possible outcome, and is testable and falsifiable.
