Following are the benefits associated with Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY)-

1. All beneficiaries are allowed to open a free bank account. There is no minimum account balance requirement.

2. Interest: Interest is earned on the amount deposited in the account.

  3. Accident Insurance Cover of Rs 1 Lakh: The account holder gets Rs 1 lakh in case of accidental death or total disability. Insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh is available.

  4. Rs 30,000 Life Insurance Cover: Rs. 1,00,000 in case of death of the account holder. Insurance cover of Rs 30,000 is available.

5. Overdraft facility: After satisfactory account operation for six months, the account holder can avail up to Rs. An overdraft facility up to Rs 5,000 can be available.

6. Benefits of Government Schemes: The account holder can access the benefits of government schemes, such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
