Rajasthan is a mineral-rich state and has a diversified economy having agriculture, mining and tourism as its main engines of growth.

District Industries Centre: It is setup by the government of Rajasthan. There are 36 districts working in Rajasthan. There are 8 Industries sub-districts centres. This department caters to the need of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME). These centres work for the development of handloom, textiles, handicrafts, marketing and other work involving their development. Industrial Potential Survey was published by district industries centre. Its headquarters is in Jaipur.

The State of Rajasthan falls in the three Agroclimatic Zones, i.e. Zone–VI -Trans-Gangetic Plains region, Zone–VIII-Central Plateau and Hills region and Zone–Western Dry region.

The total number of notified commercial banks of all types in the state increased to 7685 in December 2020 from 7143 in December 2017.
