The first scientific division of the Rajput painting style was done by Anand Kumar Swami. He wrote a book named 'Rajput Painting' in 1916.

The popular song named 'Panchida' was written by freedom fighter Manikyalal Verma. He opposed evil practices like the dowry system, purdah system etc. and emphasized women's education.

The ancestral business of making Kavad folk art is seen only in the village Bassi of in the Chittorgarh district. Kavad is a temple-like wooden sculpture, in which many doors are made. There are pictures inscribed on all the doors or gates. The Kavad is painted in red colour and then mythological stories are depicted on it in black colour. These contain details of various characters and incidents of Mahabharata, Ramayana and Krishna Leela. Kavad is associated with the religious beliefs and beliefs of people's lives, which is why after reading and listening to it, people become overwhelmed with reverence and donate as per their wish.
