1. The office of Rajasthan Divisional Commissioner was abolished in 1962 and revived in 1987.

2. The roles and powers of the commissioners vary from state to state but there is a common approach.

1. Section 89 of the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 provides for the constitution of Rajasthan Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad Service.

2. The amendment to section 89 states that the expression “Village Development Officer” shall be substituted for the existing expression “Village-level worker/Gram Sevak”.

3. The post of Gram Sevaks under Section 89 does not exist in Panchayati Raj Institutions and hence the existing provisions are deleted.

The institution of Lokayukta was created under the Rajasthan Lokayukta and Up-Lokayukta Act, 1973 to independently and impartially investigate and investigate complaints related to corruption and misuse of office against public servants with the aim of providing clean administration to the general public.

2. Lokayukta is an independent institution whose jurisdiction is the entire state of Rajasthan. It is not a department of the state government nor does the government interfere in its work.

3. In Rajasthan, ministers, secretaries and chairpersons of autonomous institutions come under the scrutiny of Lokayukta.

4. Presently the Lokayukta (Rajasthan) is Honorable Justice Shri Pratap Krishna Lohra.

Rajasthan State Information Commission can impose a maximum fine of ₹25,000 for not providing information. The amount of penalty will be ₹250 per day until the information is furnished or the application is received.
