1. Under Article 280, State Finance Commission was established in all the states of India since 1993 on the lines of the Finance Commission of the Centre, whose objective is to review the financial position of the bodies and Panchayats and make recommendations for the same. The State Finance Commission is constituted by the Governor for a term of 5 years. A chairman and a maximum of four members can be appointed in it.

1. The Governor is the ex-officio Chancellor of the State Universities.

2. The Governor appoints the Vice-Chancellor on the advice/consultation with the State Government.

4. The Chancellor appoints his nominees to various bodies such as the Senate, Syndicate, Board of Management, Selection Committee and Academic Council of State Universities.

5. He is the President of the Indian Red Cross Society, Rajasthan State Branch.
