Recently, veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman has been honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2021. This award is given at the National Film Awards ceremony for “outstanding contribution to the development of Indian cinema”. It was awarded by the Directorate of Film Festivals of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The 2021 awards were presented this year as they were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, India's legendary player and multiple Grand Slam tournament winner Leander Paes has become the first male player from Asia to be nominated for the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Fifty-year-old Leander Paes is among the six players who have been nominated for 2024. Apart from her, Cara Black, Ana Ivanovic, Carlos Moya, Daniel Nestor and Flavia Pennetta have been nominated in the player category. Li Na, the Chinese player who won the Australian Open and French Open titles in the women's category, will be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2019. She became the first player from Asia to be nominated for this award.

The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has selected DSP Pension Fund Managers as the 11th fund manager permitted to manage retirement savings under the National Pension System (NPS). PFRDA seeks to utilize Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) to extend their reach to citizens across the country.

The current Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh state Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has announced the launch of Rural Housing Justice Scheme in Chhattisgarh state during the monsoon session. This initiative will be given to the families who were eligible for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana under the Socio-Economic Survey of 2011 but have not yet got the houses, they will be given houses through this scheme.
