President of India Draupadi Murmu inaugurated 'Kaushal Bhawan', a new building of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in New Delhi. Led by the Ministry of Law and Justice, the campaign aims to reaffirm commitment to the Constitution while celebrating shared values. Freedom fighter Bose played an important role in India's independence movement against British colonial rule. The objective of Parakram Diwas is to inspire fearlessness and patriotism especially among the youth. Born in Cuttack, Orissa on January 23, 1897, Bose joined the Indian National Congress, served as its president, but resigned due to ideological conflicts with Mahatma Gandhi. In 1939 he formed the Forward Bloc, uniting anti-British forces in India.

Recently, a new plant species, ‘Andrographis theniensis’, was discovered in Theni district of Tamil Nadu in the Western Ghats. Named after its location, the plant closely resembles Andrographis megamaliana, with glossy leaves and stems, a nine-veined lower lip, pale yellow sparse hairs on the middle lobe, and yellow anthers. Andrographis, a tropical Asian species, is known to treat various ailments in traditional medicine systems. With about 25 species in India, it holds importance for its medicinal uses against cold, cough, fever and others.

Former Chief Minister of Bihar Karpoori Thakur will be honored with Bharat Ratna (posthumously). He was the Chief Minister of Bihar twice. It is noteworthy that 24th January is also the 100th birth anniversary of Karpoori Thakur. He was a leader who advocated the interests of backward classes.
